A Tánc Világnapja

Azt mondják, a tánc valaha rítus volt. A 20. században Sztravinszkij és Nizsinszkij nyomán több koreográfus is rítusokat állított színpadra. A prototípust adó Tavaszi áldozat 1913-as bemutatóján a közönség olyannyira elragadtatta magát, hogy egy író fején ütemesen dobolt a mögötte ülő. A legérdekesebb azonban az, hogy ezt egy ideig egyikük sem vette észre. Magukon kívül voltak. A rendőrhívás és a kalaptűtámadás is arra utal, hogy beteljesült Gyagilev vágya: egy valódi rítus résztvevője lett a közönség.

Színpadi rítusokat alkotott Maurice Béjart is. Legismertebb műve, a Bolero sajátos archaizmusokat tartalmazó mozdulatvilágával valójában egy középen mozgó táncos által vezetett rítus. Itt a tánctudás mellett rítusvezetői képességekre és nem utolsósorban komoly kitartásra van szükség.

A mostani Tánc Világnapnak nagyon szomorú aktualitása van a magyarok számára: nincs két hete, hogy elhunyt Markó Iván koreográfus. Markó Béjart sajátos világát elhozta a magyar táncéletbe. Ugyanakkor saját műveivel szinte hungarikumot hozott létre. Béjart rítus-alkotó módszeréhez új tartalmat adott hozzá: műveiben majdnem mindig ott van a szenvedéstörténet, a passió. Az Izzó planétákban olyan formulákat mutat be a tánckar, amelyek szinte végzetes jóslatszerűek.

Ma, a tánc világnapján Markó Ivánra emlékezünk.

It is said that dancing was once a ritual. In the 20th century, following the lead of Stravinsky and Nijinsky, several choreographers staged rites. At the 1913 premiere of the prototypical The Rite of Spring, the audience was so enthralled that a writer's head was drummed to the beat by the person sitting behind him. But the most interesting thing is that for a while none of them noticed it. They were out of their minds. Both the police call and the hatpin attack suggest that Diaghilev's wish had been fulfilled: the audience had become part of a real ritual.

Maurice Béjart also created stage rites. His most famous work, Bolero, with its peculiar archaic movements, is in fact a rite led by a dancer in the middle. In addition to dance skills, this requires rite-leading skills and, not least, considerable stamina.

This World Dance Day has a very sad topicality for Hungarians: it is less than two weeks since the death of choreographer Iván Markó. Markó brought Béjart's unique world to Hungarian dance life. At the same time, he created an almost Hungaricum with his own works. He added a new content to Béjart's rite-creating method: in his works there is almost always a story of suffering, a passion. In the Glowing Planets, the dance troupe presents formulas that are almost fatally prophetic.

Today, on World Dance Day, we remember Iván Markó.
